DIGITALIZATION AT WORK
As part of the revolution that caused the covid 19 pandemic, there have been many attempts and plans to restart, in addition to European commitments, each State has also invested national funds to innovate the tourism sector, ensuring a restart in the sign of the most advanced digitalisation.
The opportunity has arisen with the FactorYmpresa Turismo call for proposals, promoted by Invitalia and Mibact, aimed between February and March 2021 at rewarding startuppers’ ideas for innovating tourism in Italy through products, sites, apps, prototypes and businesses.
FactorYmpresa Turismo opened 2021 with Smart Contact Tourism, the challenge that selected, compared and rewarded the best business ideas that offer touchless solutions to relaunch tourism in the next normal perspective.
There were 461 projects received, Smart Contact Tourism and Invitalia selected the best 20 proposals that participated in the Accelerathon (synonymous with business accelerator), which took place online in March 2021 with a full immersion of 36 hours with the support of mentors and tutors, the startups have “accelerated” their business idea by preparing a pitch to be presented to the jury.
The best 10 projects (here are the selected projects) were rewarded with a cash contribution of 20,000 euros each, in addition to the accompanying services provided by Invitalia, an interesting example of how the State is investing in stimulating the start-up of a tourism system aimed at doing business and involving young people in the tourism sector.
